Guests visiting the new 6th Floor client liaison lounge for this professional services firm in Dubai are instantly immersed into an interactive experience that visually represents the forward thinking and ever evolving nature of the globally renowned business.
This was delivered by LED manufacturer SiliconCore, who worked alongside integrator Diversified and content creators Float 4 to provide the best display technology to bring this flagship, interactive experience to life.
BEHIND THE SCENES
The 6 by 1.7 meter Lavender 1.2mm pixel pitch LED display is one of the first things guests see when they arrive on the 6th Floor and the lift doors open. The display curves around the wall at a 90-degree angle, so they are initially enticed by the dynamic content and light sequences, then step around the corner to discover the true magnitude of the display.
Two cameras with proximity sensors detect people as they approach the wall, and the content evolves in real-time based on how many people are close to the display. The lighting also synchronises with the content so the whole environment changes based on the number of viewers.
The content selections include a roaring fire or a tranquil rain forest. Within the fire scene, the flames start off small for one person, but as numbers grow so does the fire, until it rages out of control, filling the screen and illuminating the whole space in red lighting. The rain forest scene depicts a Falcon, which are regarded as cultural icons throughout the UAE, soaring through the skies. When a viewer is detected it flies to the other side of the screen and keeps moving away from people’s locations, before eventually flying into the distance when the numbers reach capacity.
SiliconCore’s Lavender 1.2mm display was the perfect solution to facilitate this experience, due to the manufacturer’s unique technologies that result in close proximity viewing, cool operation with very low external heat emission even at high brightness, and ultrawide 160-degree viewing angles.
SiliconCore is the only LED display manufacturer to make its own driver chips. These are integrated with a suite of proprietary and exclusive technologies including the Common Cathode architecture. This powers the components with increased energy efficiency, supplying dedicated power voltages to them individually. By controlling the power voltages, heat wastage at PCB level is eliminated enabling unrivalled performance including cooler operating temperatures, up to 40% lower power consumption, up to 40% higher brightness, over 100,000 hours of LED life and colour and brightness uniformity.
SiliconCore’s Z.A.C.H technology is also embedded into the driver chips to enhance image quality and detailing within content, achieving greater uniform brightness and homogenous colour across the display. This is especially noticeable in dark colours or low brightness.
The increase in efficiency of SiliconCore’s displays results in a more environmentally friendly long-term solution, with reduced heat emission and lower energy consumption, reducing the total cost of ownership over its 10-plus year lifespan.
The front access LED tiles are mounted directly to the wall for incredibly precise alignment into a seamless display, with less than 0.2mm between tiles. The SiliconCore compact cabinet design helps achieve this and as the technology runs cool, no additional HVAC equipment is needed and there is no risk of overheating.
