Multi Point Of View VR at ISE

The Experience

In partnership with enterprise VR specialist Virtalis, we presented the first multi point of view (MPOV), active 3D VR experience on our 1.9mm XR LED Display at ISE, Barcelona.

The application marks a huge step forward in creating fully immersive environments where multiple users can interact with complex datasets in real time from their own unique perspective, transforming the experience for design review workflows, simulation and experiential learning.

Behind The Scenes

The 1.9mm XR LED Display makes MPOV possible on a direct view LED thanks to our proprietary Common Cathode technology and driver chip innovation. This delivers fast clock speeds and the 240Hz frame required, so each viewer can see the data aligned with a different frequency. This presents multiple use case options, with users either seeing the same dataset, but tracked from their physical position, or a different dataset entirely, depending on the desired experience.

Volfoni 3D Active Glasses

The dual 3D visuals, which were tracked simultaneously to the perspective of two participants in the same space, were delivered using Volfoni 3D Active tracked glasses synchronised to different frequencies on an Advanced Real-Time Tracking system.

Traditional methods of achieving multiview previously relied upon projectors. LED is now rivalling projection to deliver environments with an elevated image quality and user experience, enhanced sustainability credentials and increased reliability over a longer lifespan.

This heightened accuracy for two or more participants to collaborate in the virtual space can deliver reductions in time to market, increase right-first-time design and manufacture and enable seamless collaboration across the supply chain.
