SILICONCORE TAKES TO THE ROAD WITH THE NEXTEV NIO FORMULA-E TEAM

SiliconCore has embarked on a worldwide tour with FIA Formula E team, NextEV NIO, installing its Peony 2.6mm LED display within the Pit Garages. The Formula E season commenced on 9th October in Hong Kong and concludes 30th July 2017 in Montreal.

The Pit Garage LED displays are a key part of the NextEV NIO Formula-e team’s strategy. SiliconCore’s Peony LED display spans the perimeter of the Pit Garage at 28 metres in length displaying mission critical race information such as live video feeds, data and metric analysis and sponsor information. Content feeds are selected and distributed via a front end processor from Realtime Environment Systems (RES), with an easy to use interface for the end client, especially during high pressure racing moments.

The SiliconCore engineers have just half a day to build the display, and this speed is enabled because the Peony 2.6 rental wall uses a dedicated truss framing system which allows the tiles to quickly interlock into the desired size and shape, which may vary at different race locations.

NextEV & NIO was also in the spotlight this week with their NIO EP9 electric supercar launch at the Saatchi Gallery, London. This achieves 0-124mph in 7.1 seconds, has a top speed of 195mph and charges in a mere 45 minutes to achieve a 265-mile range. NextEV & NIO has extremely strong environmental credentials in all elements of motor sport and automotive production and SiliconCore follows the same ethos.
