SILICONCORE ANNOUNCES THE LICENSING OF COMMON CATHODE LED TECHNOLOGY
We’ve recently announced that we’re licensing our Common Cathode technology. Below is the official press release, for more information please get in touch with us at contact@silicon-core.com
Press Release:
Innovators in LED display technologies and eco-systems, SiliconCore Technology, has announced it will be entering licensing agreements with a select number of LED display manufacturers, granting the rights to use its patented Common Cathode technology.
Patenting the technology in 2011, SiliconCore developed its Common Cathode process after the company realized the benefits it had on direct view LED. This led to the development of the first range of LED displays to offer ultra-high resolution, while maintaining the lowest power consumption, highest brightness and lowest operating temperatures in the industry.
SiliconCore’s CEO Eric Li explains;
“The team at SiliconCore recognized almost a decade ago the opportunity to innovate within the LED display industry and produce higher resolution better performing displays. We focused our research and development on inefficiencies in designs of LED displays, and Common Cathode technology was the result. With the trend towards higher resolution LED displays of competitive performance specifications, and the added pressure to produce more efficient larger displays, managing the power, heat and brightness of displays based on the Common Anode technology was fast becoming an insurmountable challenge. The Common Cathode technology provides the perfect answer for overcoming this challenge. This puts us in the perfect position to license our technology for wider use, enabling further innovation across the industry in the production of highly efficient high resolution LED displays.”
Three brands have confirmed partnerships with SiliconCore so far, with a number of additional collaborations to be announced throughout 2019.
SiliconCore has expertise in digital and analog mixed-signal semiconductor integrated circuit design. The Common Cathode LED technology is implemented as a chip-level technical solution enabling key features such as low power and heat dissipation, high refresh rates, low brightness gray scale, and low EMI. This allows adapters of Common Cathode technology to create efficient, long lasting displays from larger pixel pitch down to the very fine pixel pitch including sub 1mm.
